Truck Crash Leaves Hundreds Without Power in Long Island

A truck with a cherry picker struck various utility poles, trees, and power lines early Tuesday morning along Meacham Avenue resulting in as many as 6,000 customers without power at one point. According to My Fox NY, around 500 Long Island Power Authority customers in Elmont, Hempstead, and Franklin Square are still without power as utility crews and workers try to fix the damage.

According to the Associated Press, Nassau County police are investigating the issue and police have one man in custody.
