Teen Charged for Coney Island Fire

A 16 year old has been charged in connection with the Coney Island fire that left two police officers in critical condition.

The New York Post reports that Marcell Dockery admitted setting the fire because he was "bored."

"I decided to take a lighter and light the top of the mattress because I was bored," Dockery reportedly told police, according to a law enforcement source.

Dockery is now facing charges of felony arson, assault and reckless endangerment.  He didn't say anything as he was led from the 60th precinct to his arraignment.

Two officers, Dennis Guerra and Rosa Rodriguez, were criticaly injured in the fire on Sunday when they were overcome by smoke.

"At this moment, we have two officers fighting for their lives," Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

Guerra is currently being treated at Montefiore Medical Center.  Rodriguez is at Cornell Medical Center.
