NJ Students Hospitalized After Pepper Spray Incident

The students of PS 11 on Bergen Avenue in New Jersey were sent to the hospital around 10 a.m. this morning due to a suspicious odor and a chemical that made students begin coughing in a classroom.

24 students were sent to the hospital to be treated and authorities, as well as Hazmat, investigated the scene. Officials say that the mysterious chemical was most likely pepper spray and it was only traced in one classroom.

The students were cleared to return to class around an hour after they were evacuated.
