Sid Bernstein, the man who brought the Beatles to Shea Stadium for their legendary concert in 1965, has passed away at the age of 95. Bernstein's spokeswoman Merle Frimark made the announcement on Wednesday. There is no cause of death at this time.
Bernstein will likely go down as one of the most famous concert promoters of all time after promoting the Beatles first US tour at Carnegie Hall in 1964. He also brought the Rolling Stones to Carnegie Hall and ushered in British bands such as the Kinks and the Animals to New York City.
The BBC reports that Bernstein is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine, along with six children and six grandchildren.
