Funeral Held for Stabbing Victim

A funeral is being held today for 6 year old P.J. Avitto, who was stabbed to death at the Boulevard Houses in Brooklyn last weekend.

Family and friends are expected to gather at St. Paul's Baptist Church in East New York.  Mayor Bill de Blasio will be among the mourners.

Avitto and 7 year old Mikayla Capers were on their way to get ice cream when they were attacked last Sunday.  Avitto was killed, while Capers was seriously injured.

Police arrested 27 year old Daniel St. Hubert and charged him with murder.  St. Hubert has a lengthy criminal history and was released from prison just two weeks ago.

Police are also investigating whether he's responsible for a pair of other recent attacks.  18 year old Tanaya Copeland was stabbed to death last Friday.  Then on Wednesday, a 53 year old man was attacked at a Manhattan subway station.

"We do not yet have sufficient information to confirm that he is the likely suspect in the case of the 18 year old young woman who was killed," de Blasio said.
