Foley Wins Republican Nod for Governor

Businessman Tom Foley has defeated Senate Minority Leader John McKinney in a Republican primary for Governor of Connecticut.

Foley won 55 percent of the vote and will now take on Governor Dannel Malloy in November.

“Dan Malloy has had four years to fix things and most of the things under his leadership have actually gotten worse,” Foley said.  “Connecticut families deserve better.”

The Foley and Malloy race is a rematch of the 2010 election, which Malloy won by just a few thousand votes.

Foley touted his business experience, saying that he’s an outsider who will shake things up.

“I’m a business person, I know how to fix these problems.  I’ve been doing it for 35 years,” he said.
