According to a report from the Associated Press, the Famers’ Almanac is predicting that a major snow storm will hit the Northeast at the same time when the Super Bowl is taking place in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. Super Bowl XLVIII is scheduled for Feb. 2, 2014, and according to the Farmers’ Almanac, a storm will hit between Feb. 1 and Feb. 3.
This season's Super Bowl will be the NFL’s first to take place outdoors in a cold-weather location. The idea of snow hitting during the Super Bowl has been brought up, but the Farmers’ Almanac's prediction makes snow at the big game seem like a real possibility. The Farmers’ Almanac uses a formula based on planetary positions, lunar cycles, and sunspots. They claim to be correct 80 percent of the time.
