Pharrell Williams is making history on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.  The Grammy-winning producer's hit single "Happy" has moved past Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" to claim the top spot on the chart.  It marks the first time Pharrell has topped the Hot 100 as a lead artist.

As a featured artist he's reigned with the hits "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dogg, "Money Maker" by Ludacris and mostly recently with Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines."

"Happy" is the lead single from Pharrell's upcoming album G I R L and is also featured on the soundtrack to Despicable Me 2, for which it's nominated for an Academy Award.

Pharrell isn't the only artist having a historic run on the Hot 100.  For the first time in his career, John Legend is cracking the chart's top ten with the song "All of Me."  In the past week, the song has jumped from number eleven to number four.  Previously, Legend reached number 24 on the chart with the songs "Ordinary People" and "Green Light" featuring Andre 3000.
